It is very difficult sometimes to juggle everything we have to do and then when you throw in the added time you need to be able to plan your wedding you feel that time is your enemy, so is the table plan, so are organising bridesmaids who live at opposing ends of the country, and even worse so is your Fiance who is sitting smugly because all he had to organise was the transport, which he has done and can’t understand why you haven’t got time to spend three hours a night on the xbox!!! If you feel that you just have to unload some of the pressure please give us a call. You're simply wonderful!!

I would like to say a huge “WELL DONE!!” to one of my Brides called Sarah. It was another weigh day for us slimming world ladies and Sarah lost another whopping FIVE pounds!! I am so proud of you, keep up the good work Sarah, at this rate we will be ordering you a size 8 Maggie! Can’t wait for you to join us at Zumba next week, you will soon be slim, toned and even more beautiful! I am going to stop right there because although the door leading into the church is fairly wide I wouldn’t want to responsible for an unconcious bride when your head hits the stonework!! If anyone else would like to join in the fun either at slimming world or zumba we will welcome you with open arms. I was going to start by saying that I hope everybodys’ day is a good as the weather, but then heard a very loud clattering behind me, turned around and the rain is pouring here in Southampton, so I hope that wherever you are, your weather is better than mine! Fat to Phat wedding planner

Hi all, Hope you are well and your wedding planning is on track. My fitness journey is on track. The dreaded weigh in on Tuesday arrived so having chosen with great care the lightest clothing I could find in my wardrobe (I don’t know what I will do in the middle of winter!) I faced and mounted the scales muttering to myself “think thin, think light please grant this wish, I wish tonight!” Hoorah!! My wish was granted bringing my weight loss to 11.5 pounds. I’m telling you guys and girls, if I can do it so can you. If you would like to lose some weight before your big day and would like to have some company and moral support then let me know. It is considered good luck for a bride to meet a lamb, a dove, a spider, a
policeman, a clergyman, a doctor, a blind man or a black cat on her way to her
wedding ceremony.

For good luck, the groom should give a coin to the first person he sees on his
way to the church.

If the bride or a child cry during the wedding service it is considered lucky.

Rain on your wedding day is considered to be lucky.

Dating back to Victorian times . . . seeing a chimney sweep on the way from the
church will bring good luck. (As it is unlikely that you will meet one on the way to your service, you can hire one and be sure of having good luck)

During the Middle Ages, some Jewish weddings were even held in cemeteries,
since it was believed the life-affirming act of marriage could halt plagues.

As many of you know I am trying to lose weight and gain a slimmer more toned body. This being the case I hate having to try clothes on in a communal dressing room. Sound like you?? If you are shopping for your bridal gown your friendly Southampton wedding planners have a few suggestions for you. When looking for your dream dress give potential bridal shops a call before hand and either find out their least busy times or many boutiques will offer you an opportunity to try dresses on in a private session and some really go to town to make the experience fun and fabulous! We know of several bridal stores where you and your bridesmaids can visit the boutique, having it all to yourselves and you will even get champagne and nibbles thrown in for a very reasonable cost, sometimes you can include the mother of the bride and groom as well!! We would be delighted to arrange this for you and we also offer to transport you to and from the fittings allowing everyone (apart from us) the opportunity to have a glass of bubbly. Fat to Phat wedding planner!!

Update as promised. I had a good week apart from one day when I really didn’t eat enough and thought I was going to land on the floor. Went for first weigh in and was very nervous!! Yippee!! I lost four pounds and have set a target for another two pound loss for next week, I am on my way to becoming a phat wedding planner!! The group session is really beneficial as each member talks about their week and the highs, lows, being “good” and being “bad”. We also shared recipes and ideas. I would highly recommend this way of eating. I would love to hear from anyone else who is on a similar journey, so please leave me a comment!!
